Ferrari is an Italian automobile make that was started by racing
enthusiast Enzo Ferrari in 1940. Today, Ferrari automobiles are
still known for their racing abilities. They have won about 100
Formula One races, nine world championships, and nine Le Mans races.
The first Ferrari, the 815, was not actually called a Ferrari because an agreement with the Alfa company, where Ferrari worked before striking out on his own, prohibited the use of his name for four years. Several years later, in 1946, Enzo Ferrari introduced a 91.5 cubic inch V12 racing sports car, the first automobile to be called a Ferrari. The Ferrari was exported to the United States in 1949, with the 400 and 410 models designed specifically for the American market. Ferrari styling has always been known to be sensuous and curvy. Today's Ferraris appeal to affluent sports car enthusiasts who can afford the best in both performance and options.
