When Honda and Toyota came out with its upscale brands of Acura and Lexus, Nissan followed suit shortly thereafter and introduced the Infiniti.
While initial Infiniti cars had unique platforms, today's Infiniti's are based on the same platforms as Nissan models. But despite the fact they share the same platform, Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are quite different. For one thing, Infiniti features more powerful engines as well as tuned suspensions and steering systems. In addition, the Infiniti interiors are much more luxurious and often include such features as heated and cooled seats, high-end stereo components, voice recognition controls, and navigation systems.
Infiniti is currently available in North America and the Middle East as well as in South Korea, Taiwan, and China. Nissan plans to introduce Infiniti to continental European markets in 2007, and to the United Kingdom in 2008. The make will also be introduced to Japan sometime after 2008.
Popular models include the Q45 coupe and sedan, as well as the QX4 and QX56 SUVs. Learn more about Infiniti vehicles using the resources listed below.
